BARBADOS
Barbados is rich in tradition and has endless pink- and white-sand beaches. There are no casinos but many sight-seeing attractions. This island offers more package deals than most islands, especially during off-season which lasts from April until mid-December. Crime has been on the rise in recent years, however, Barbados is still viewed as being safe.
The south coast is known for its nightlife and the west coast is known for its beach strip and the east coast is very tranquil. Afternoon tea remains a tradition at many places, cricket is still the national sport and many Bajans speak with a British accent.
Barbados is known as "Little England" and has appointed Privy Council, which most citizens consider to be too liberal.
Barbados is on Atlantic standard time and is one hour ahead U.S. time, except during daylight savings time, when both countries have the same time. Daytime temperatures are in the 75 degree to 85 degree range throughout the year.
Getting Around
